Secure File Transfer and Site Synchronization with SecureFX®
VanDyke Software's secure file transfer client—SecureFX—gives you advanced capabilities that allow you to streamline file transfer operations needed to keep local and remote sites synchronized.
Site Synchronization Approaches
SecureFX provides two ways to synchronize local and remote sites:
Synchronize Dialogs give you many options to fine-tune site synchronization operations. Through a series of windows you may:
- Add a new session or return to saved settings from a previous session.
- Define local and remote paths.
- Select secure file transfer direction. Options include:
- Upload only
- Download only
- Mirror both
- Mirror local
- Mirror remote
- Select and save filter settings. Filter capabilities include:
- Include
- Exclude
- Match case
- Wildcard filter support
Synchronize dialogs help streamline recurring (secured or unsecured) file transfer operations.
The Quick Synchronize feature allows you to synchronize local and remote sites from one window. Drop down menus allow you to select the direction of file transfer and filter settings. Quick Synchronize is primarily intended for ad hoc site synchronization operations. However, this feature does allow you to save session settings into the synchronize database for quicker synchronization operations in the future.
Secure Site Synchronization
As with all SecureFX sessions, you can select the file transfer protocol when establishing connection. SecureFX supports secure file transfer protocols SFTP, SCP, and FTP over SSL. However, SecureFX will allow site synchronization using (unsecure) FTP for synchronization operations with a legacy system that does not support newer secure protocols.
