Albuquerque, N.M. (May 2, 2013) — VanDyke Software® today announced the official release of the SecureFX® 7.1 secure file transfer client, which adds support for Mac and Linux. SecureFX was formerly available only on the Windows platform.
SecureFX 7.1 provides extensive capabilities for network administrators and web developers working in cross platform environments, including multiple file transfer protocols, site synchronization, and easy recovery of interrupted transfers. On Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux, SecureFX provides secure file transfers with SFTP, FTP over SSL, and SCP. FTP is provided for use on legacy systems.
Maureen Jett, product director for SecureFX, said, "We had customers telling us that they were running SecureFX on Parallels or a VM. In some cases customers said they were staying on the Windows platform because they didn't want to lose the functionality they have using SecureFX for Windows and the SecureFX/SecureCRT® integration. Now customers can easily bring SecureFX over from Windows to the Mac or Linux platform (and even switch between the different platforms when needed)."
Also new for SecureFX 7.1 is a dependent session option, which allows connection to a jump host before connecting to other sessions. On the Windows platform, support for SHA1 in RSA signatures allows X.509 certificates to be used in FIPS mode.
SecureFX 7.1 can be optionally integrated with SecureCRT, VanDyke Software's Secure Shell (SSH) terminal client. The integrated clients can share session options and host key databases so that operations like setting application defaults, session settings, or accepting a server's host key only need to be performed once.
