New VanDyke Release Makes Unattended Secure File Transfers a Reality

Albuquerque, N.M. December 20, 2001 — VanDyke Software™, a leading provider of security and access software, announced today the public beta release of its SecureFX® 2.0 file transfer client. SecureFX includes a command-line utility for scripting batch jobs that provides network professionals with the ability to perform secure unattended file transfer operations. SecureFX’s public key-only authentication option is another critical factor in automating file transfers.

"In the past when using traditional methods like FTP, root passwords were often embedded in files and scripts and sent in the clear. SecureFX 2.0's introduction of a command-line utility for scripting automated file transfers eliminates this potential vulnerability."

The new release introduces ASCII file transfer support for SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol), an ideal solution for transferring raw HTML, log files, and other text-based files between different operating systems over an encrypted SSH2 connection. SecureFX's feature set now matches that of the company's SecureCRT® client, with support for native OpenSSH public and private key formats and X.509 certificates.

SecureFX 2.0 is priced at US$59.95 for a single license, US$500 for 10 licenses, and US$3500 for 100 licenses. SecureFX is also available in a bundled version with SecureCRT, a secure remote access and tunneling client, for US$129.00. The software supports Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows NT, Windows ME, Windows 98, and Windows 95. Fully functional 30-day evaluation software may be downloaded worldwide from www.vandyke.com.
