Secure FTP Client Release Targets Compatibility, Usability

Albuquerque, N.M. (July 24, 2000) — Van Dyke Technologies, Inc., a provider of quality Internet software, announced today the official release of SecureFX® 1.8 for Windows®. Usability and SSH2™ server compatibility are the key elements of the release.

SecureFX 1.8 improves session management with an enhanced Connect dialog. In addition, the SSH2 encryption component of SecureFX 1.8 is now fully compatible with current SSH2 servers from open-source and commercial providers, including OpenSSH 2.1.1. OpenSSH server software is available from www.openssh.com.

"Customers wanted to organize predefined sessions any way they like, and now with SecureFX 1.8 they can do this," said Jeff P. Van Dyke, president of Van Dyke Technologies, Inc. "the SecureFX session interface is now more like our SecureCRT® SSH client, making it easier to switch between the two applications."

SecureFX has support for both secure and standard FTP connections, making it a universal FTP tool for webmasters and other Internet professionals. For remote servers providing SSH2 server support, SecureFX can provide a fully encrypted FTP session, with a choice of encryption ciphers from RC4, 3DES and Twofish. Secure user authentication uses either encrypted passwords or DSA public- private keys of up to 1024 bits.

SecureFX is priced at US$59.95 for a single license, US$500 for 10 licenses and US$3500 for 100 licenses. The software supports Windows NT, Windows 98, and Windows 95. Fully functional evaluation software may be downloaded worldwide from www.vandyke.com.
