The 8.3 release provides customers with time-saving features that improve the look, feel, and performance of the user interface and make it faster and easier to connect to and manage sessions. SecureCRT introduces new built-in ANSI color schemes, including Solarized, so that customers can easily change the look of their terminal workspace. "The new color schemes are invaluable to my work environment," said Mark Dahlberg, a UNIX systems administrator at Recursoft.org. "The Solarized Dark color scheme has significantly reduced my eye strain and focuses my attention where it’s needed."
SecureCRT and SecureFX also add a Connect bar autocomplete that filters as soon as you start to type so that you can quickly find and connect to sessions.
Enhanced encryption support in the 8.3 releases includes ChaCha20/Poly1305, AES-GCM ciphers, and the UMAC-128 algorithm. SSH2 authentication options now include OpenSSH certificates.
SecureFX 8.3 improves synchronization performance when working with large numbers of files and folders, and scripting file transfers is easier with the ability to take actions based on exit codes that indicate why an operation failed.
A paste confirmation dialog in SecureCRT 8.3 displays the contents of the paste buffer, helping to prevent accidental pasting of multiple lines of text into a production or other critical server. Also new is line rewrapping of the text in the terminal area when the SecureCRT window is resized.
