CRT TERMINAL EMULATOR TAKES MAJOR STEPS FORWARD IN USABILITY, SCRIPTING

CRT 3.0 Provides Powerful, Low-cost Solution for Corporate Data Access

Albuquerque, N.M. (October 29, 1999) — Van Dyke Technologies, Inc., a provider of quality Internet software, announced today the official release of its CRT 3.0 terminal emulator for Windows®, with advances in usability and scripting capability. Fully functional evaluation software is available for download at www.vandyke.com.

Version 3.0 innovations focus on usability and scripting. CRT now has redesigned Connect, Session and Global Options dialogs. The new Connect dialog supports nested folders to organize hundreds of sessions. CRT's ActiveX scripting support allows the use of scripting languages like VBScript and PerlScript to control the CRT window, connections, input, printing and other features. CRT also adds SCO ANSI to its list of supported emulations.

"We've maintained CRT's core usability and flexibility while adding more options, and also capabilities like managing hundreds of sessions in the Connect dialog," said Jeff P. Van Dyke, president of Van Dyke Technologies, Inc. "But the real power of CRT 3.0 for corporate users is in the ability to use your favorite scripting language to automate tasks. With scripting, CRT has become a more universal corporate solution."

CRT 3.0 includes many other usability-related enhancements. Session keyboard mapping allows mapping any key combination without managing keymap files. A "Create Shortcut" command creates Desktop session shortcuts automatically. CRT also gives system administrators new tools to increase their control over CRT configuration. All CRT settings are now stored in a common location, which simplifies common configuration.

CRT 3.0 supports Windows NT, Windows 95 and Windows 98. Prices are US$34.95 for a single-computer license, US$300 for a 10-computer license, and US$1800 for a 100-computer license. Unlimited user site licenses are available for US$5995.

Van Dyke Technologies has over 350,000 licensed users of CRT in more than 80 countries since version 1.0 was released in 1995. The company also sells AbsoluteFTP, a popular FTP client for Windows. Van Dyke Technologies is based in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
