VANDYKE SOFTWARE JOINS THE INTERNET SOCIETY

Membership Reinforces Company Commitment to Open Standards

(Albuquerque, N.M. January 22, 2002) — VanDyke Software™, a leading provider of security and access software, announced its membership in The Internet Society (ISOC). A non-profit, non-governmental organization, ISOC's worldwide members make up a veritable "who's who" of the Internet industry.

ISOC is the organizational home of the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), and related standards-setting and research arms of the Internet community, such as the IAB (Internet Architecture Board), IRTF (Internet Research Task Force), etc. These efforts rely on the participation of thousands of people from around the world.

"In light of our participation in IETF activities, such as the SecSh Working Group, joining the Internet Society is a natural growth step for VanDyke Software, " said Jeff P. Van Dyke, President of the company. "The IETF is the principal global body governing the development of Internet standards and it is important that we participate."

"VanDyke has been a strong supporter and participant of the IETF for many years, and we are very pleased that they have decided to join the Internet Society and further support our activities in standards and other related areas." said Lynn St. Amour, President and CEO of ISOC.
