VANDYKE APPLICATIONS BOOST SECURITY OF PRIVACY ADVOCATE

Electronic Frontier Foundation Deploys SecureCRT®, SecureFX®, and Entunnel™

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (April 10, 2003) -- VanDyke Software™, Inc., a developer of customer-driven software solutions for network security, announced today that it will donate secure access and file transfer software to the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF). EFF, www.eff.org, is a non-profit organization protecting civil liberties and defending freedom in the digital world.

VanDyke will upgrade previously donated licenses for SecureCRT and SecureFX and will also provide new licenses for the company's Entunnel product. Since VanDyke's first donation in 2001, SecureCRT and SecureFX products have provided EFF staff using PCs running the Microsoft® Windows® operating system with secure logon, shell access, data tunneling, and file transfer. Entunnel will provide additional staff with secure tunneling of e-mail, schedules, and other non-secure TCP-IP applications from a simple tray application. The SecureCRT secure access client, the SecureFX file transfer application, and the Entunnel data tunneling application provide strong encryption using the Secure Shell protocol (SSH2™).

"VanDyke is pleased to be able to help enhance the security of the Electronic Frontier Foundation," said Jeff P. Van Dyke, president of VanDyke Software, Inc. "EFF plays an important role in protecting the privacy of individuals on the Internet. We are honored that EFF uses SecureCRT, SecureFX, and now Entunnel, to protect and secure passwords, user account information, and critical data."
