SecureCRT 6.0.3 delivers new time-saving features including support for moving tabs between windows and a button bar that allows you to map frequently used commands, scripts, and menu functions. An updated user interface provides alpha transparency, Windows display themes, and drag-and-drop customization of the menu and toolbar. Support for installation on U3 smart drives has been added, along with a combined installer for SecureCRT and SecureFX, and MSI support to simplify and automate distribution and installation.

SecureCRT 6.1 (beta 3) lets you customize your workflow and automate routine tasks. Search from the Connect dialog, disconnect and reconnect all tabbed sessions, and launch a remote command or application on connect. Scripting enhancements support accessing session options, accessing the clipboard, and sending special keys. Logon is streamlined by allowing username and password to be saved with keyboard-interactive authentication.

SecureFX 6.1 (beta 3) provides faster, simpler site synchronization with a synchronize database and the ability to use active sessions for synchronize operations. Search for sessions, hosts, folders, or keywords from the Connect dialog. Logon is streamlined by allowing username and password to be saved with keyboard-interactive authentication. Context menu items let you navigate back, forward, to the parent folder, to the home folder, to the root folder, and to the current folder in Explorer.

The VShell 3.5 (beta 1) server now protects your FTP data with support for FTP over SSL (FTPS). Also new are a Control Panel makeover, additional logging options including W3C extended log file format, an internal user database, and a new remote exec RunAs capability.

Results from VanDyke Software's fifth annual "What Keeps You Up at Night?" survey of network/systems administrators indicate that most IT budgets are holding steady in spite of a sputtering economy. Findings showed that in the last two years while a solid majority (64% and 63%) of network administrators said their enterprises budgeted sufficiently to support current information security needs, only 24% in this year's survey answered they "sleep like a baby at night" compared to 33% in 2007.
