VanDyke ClientPack for Windows and UNIX

The VanDyke ClientPack is a set of command-line utilities for secure automation of routine file transfer, shell, and public-key administration tasks. The ClientPack runs on Windows, Linux, and UNIX platforms to support cross-platform scripting.
 

The VanDyke ClientPack allows network managers to provide the automation utilities offered with the VShell® server to other users in their organization. Automation saves time on routine administration and configuration tasks, and allows implementing security policies and procedures consistently. ClientPack gives users the secure command-line tools they need for scriptable control of the network environment.

The secure command-line utilities in the VanDyke ClientPack include:

  • vsftp, an interactive SFTP utility for quick, easy, file transfers
  • vsh, an interactive shell utility
  • vcp, a line-oriented file transfer utility
  • vkeygen, a public/private key generator utility
  • vpka, a tool for uploading keys to the VShell server

vcp uses SCP-like syntax for secure file transfers from the command line. The example shows a recursive ASCII transfer, with many other available options such as logging and firewalls.
